Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

How are current below strong people holding up?

I know most who received a BS rating ended up with a pip immediately unless they were given an exception (TDPs, etc). Has your coaching plan ended yet? Mine ends mid October

If you search Pulse there is a page that cites how many weeks of severance you get.

However, referencing the topic of the post. I hope everyone here understands that CO's performance management hunger gamesian system does not define who you are. It's a sick model advocated by the only one who is not subject to it (Rich Fairbanks).

I'm praying for everyone, that you find something better soon, that you don't let this sick environment change your perception from you, and that you heal quickly.

mid way through my CP. Does everything quickly and get a lot of positive feedback. However my manager is stil focusing on exaggerating things and almost never give recognition to me. Never provide an update on whether I can make it out of CP or not. I am just curious to see when they do give me a Pip at the end of this, what kind of excuses they can have. Looking forward to it. I will not be opt into Pip since I do not believe I can perform better than recently. If my current performance is not able to get me out of CP, then I cannot imagine what kind of behavior would get me out of Pip.

The most funny thing is, the mid year review as well as the CP were all copy and pasted, and my name is spelled wrong at least twice. My name is less than 7 letters long. Wondering if they had put too much effort into exaggerting things that they do not have the time to make sure the spelling is correct.

Coaching Plan ending this month, no feedback or follow up from people manager. Pretty sure I’m being laid off.

I don’t believe there was a non compete clause, I’ve never heard of one.

@1fnj+1otXET4S do you know if they put in any non compete clauses in their agreement? From what I see online companies do that if you’re offered a severance or opt out.

I haven’t worked there in about 18 months, but when I did, if you chose to opt out, you immediately stopped any work activity, and we’re out on basically paid leave. The total time was 2 months, so if you didn’t opt out at the beginning, you can at any time, but it’s still a total of 8 weeks. So if you opt out 6 weeks in, you basically get paid for the last 2. You are not considered rehirable. I can’t remember if any severance was offered, but it there was, it was like 4 weeks. I was a Unit Manager for agents in the card side.

How does the PIP process work?

Not well at all. They didn’t even tell me when mine started/ends. I found out when I called AR. On top of that the stuff they do to ensure underperformance is insane. I am going to need therapy for sure.

I would like to know what’s included in the agreement when you opt out?
