Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

They're here!

So, our fearless leader said 7% a couple weeks ago. So far in our market today alone, 20% of FOPS and 35% of SWOPS is gone. What a joke! Directed at Mike Seivert, you uneducated, inexperienced tw-twaffle! One of two things happened since you said there would be NO layoffs and there would be nothing but additions. Either you lied or you failed dramatically!! Which was it? Maybe if you concentrated on quality and company pride as much as you focused on DI&E, smiling at company meetings during layoffs and your sad, very sad attempt at growing a beard, we wouldn't be dropping some of the best employees. You caved to the "Sprint failure group", allowed to be on the BOD. You claim to have the most customer adds while trashing your front line and the fact some of your closest allies in your inner circle have left graciously, while we can read between the lines, which says way more about your inexcusable incompetence. Yet, you got signed on for another 4 years of this cr-p? What was the reasoning behind those who have been here for a VERY long time offering to volunteer for the layoffs, to save younger jobs, being refused?? The Death Star allowed that! Now the people left are all angry and will have an attitude and this company will go back to being a third rate carrier with marginal service thanks to your "cheapness" and self righteousness. I really wish John were still here as he said it like it REALLY was and made and built the pedestal you are now sitting on! Shave the pathetic beard, slap all the former Sprint failures currently on the board and grow a pair at least half the size of your predecessor. To quote Monty Python, "I fa-t in your general direction!" I only wish this company the best at the expense of your total failure! As for the rest of the employees, did you know the top 6 execs in the company made over $500M last year? Hmmmm....

It’s high time we hike up our petticoats and lay the blame at the goons that tarnished the reputation of the Brown Telephone Company!

The FOPs area I was let go from today was not able to keep up with the work load as it stood now. With the cuts that were made today, customers in this area are going to leave in droves.

Tech count to site ratio? 80-100ea after this in an area well over 130,000 sq miles, assuming no more techs after today.
How do we know so early? All affected techs, today, were sent the email yesterday through late last night.
Sprint cop out? Sprint doesn't exist any more, can't blame them. BUT, If you don't see the influence from the Sprint leftovers, you need to GTFU!
Those of you commenting positively about the layoffs the way some of you do are obviously higher up in the company so best to STFU! People are hurting and angry. Trying to justify it and not blame the upper ranks is just cruel.

Always blaming Sprint is a huge cop-out.

Who are the Sprint leaders you are referring to that took over the ranks? Majority of SLT and VP layer were/are legacy T-Mobile or newly hired.

Considering how small those teams are it doesnt take take more than one or two people to get to 25%

Honestly, even in the east coast, I don't know how someone would already know percentages cut in their market! This post is very dramatic and over the top. Grow the fu-k up.

7% company wide. Less in some orgs, more in others. Math.

Before Sprint people get offended, let me call out - this is not about Sprint ICs. I am talking about Sprint Leadership 'only'. When merger happened, it would have been understandable, if some of the Sprint leadership was retained, say the good folks. But what we have seen is that pre-merger T-Mobile Leadership was hunted and massacred - one by one, all magenta top leaders gone, who made this compnay 'the Uncarrier'. Most of the top leadership became Yellow over time. Here is my simple question - folks that burnt Sprint to the ground, they were hand-picked to drive New T-Mobile. Who came up with that brilliant idea? Current CEO would go onto the stage every quarter after firing SVPs and VPs - this is the Dream Team folks. Next quarter, another re-org, more firing, again will jump on stage "this is the Dream Team folks". What the he-l, could not even put the leadership team together. What the he-l Board is doing, are they blind? Can't see what's going on? Then came R2D2 and that Apparently Pseudo Intelligent Weirdo, he was at another level altogether. I was let go, but I could see it coming, you got two technology teams coming in after merger, of course everyone knew there will be layoffs. But the lies, the cruelty of prolonging misery, making a mess of an enterprise that so many present and past employees gave their years to - that part is unforgivable. Karma is a bi--h, it doesn't give a $hit if you are a CXO or an IC, when your time will come, it will throw you to the wolves and everyone of us will take a pause and read, re-read the news when that will happen. R2D2 guy is a perfect example!

The real tragedy are the people left behind to work at this cesspool. Just imagine the next market upgrade or disaster recovery. Pink on the outside, yellow on the inside.
