Any idea on what’s going on this this? It’s been several months since we’ve heard anything about it, and they said by the end of summer we should hear something…

This layoff anxiety has been suffocating me. I can barely do my work anymore and I’m spending time filling out applications.
Still no updates?! Are they waiting for the holiday season to start layoffs? I'm tired of thinking about this day in and day out. Too much anxiety. Just get it done and over with already.
Because they care about the mental well-being of their employees, duh. /sarcasm
Still crickets... why are they dragging this out for months and months?? 😣
No updates? hold on. ELT is paying a consultant to teach them how to use the DARE model, and then pay them to come to a decision on their behalf.
Any new rumors/news?
It going to be crazy

“ Roger Putman is done looks like the higher P levels are getting it first. First it was Sue Urvinsky now him.”

Ok . Last poster said 'get ready '. To me that means we'd all hear something next week but agree with you, just executive levels.
Supposedly they are making decisions around senior leadership (6Ps and above) over the next month. By November 1, decisions should be made. From there, I think they’ll go level by level with layoffs. I feel like lower level will start to see impacts/layoffs 2024 Q2… but again, all assumptions and speculation. I hope for more transparency from leadership during the Quarterly Employee Update on November 6. Everyone sign up to attend that session if you haven’t already…
Do announcements start next week? Would VP levels know by now what will happen? Anyone have any clue about anything or still wait and see...
Over 2000
Everyone ready?
Over or under 2,000?
Per a previous comment wasn't this week supposed to be something major? I didn't hear of anything happening.
Well said. Truth right here
If the 40% RIF is actually true I’m guessing they’ll expect people to excel in delivery and work themselves to the bone (some will I guess) , the competent/smart ones will up-skill and get out asap to protect their income (yes there’ll big a package) in case they get laid off in a downturn. What will be left will be loyal workaholics and lazy/incompetent types; will make for an interesting work environment/culture.
RIF = Reduction in force
Where was the 40% figure from?
What’s RIF?
Wow.. where did you hear this?
“ The target for 2026 is to achieve a 40% RIF milestone...”
The target for 2026 is to achieve a 40% RIF milestone...
The 46 were told in mid august and warn notice captures last day at PRU. First round leaving this week.
Were the GT roles yesterday part of the already planned layoffs? Or new? Pru filed a WARN for 46 roles in July with 9/15 to 12/6 effective date
there were a few layoffs yesterday in GT
Also agree, not that I want to be part of it or wish for the # to be higher, but 2k seems “low”?
2k domestic or does that also include international?
2k out of 40k employees is less than I expected..not that I want to be part of that.. but its 5% which is lower than what companies typically do
I heard over 2k layoffs
Can someone clarify what's happening this week? Marketing was told Q4.
Wasn’t sure what a helix structure is… first thing on Google was from McKinsey lol
https://www.mckinsey.com/capabilities/people-and-organizational-performance/our-insights/the-helix-organization
Helix structure??
Where are they cutting? ES, Compliance, Risk…?
Moving towards a “helix structure” …
Think it is closer to 20%? Learned from other friends within the company decision is coming in Q4?
Where did you hear 20%-30% of cuts???
been hearing will be 20-30% cuts? anyone hear any different numbers? are we expecting third week sept?
It’s mostly PRU talk here even though this is the PUK channel; due to the similar names most people mistakenly open a thread here
We talking about Pru or Puk here?
Why don't they just announce it already!?
One of our VP’s (My boss’ boss), announced that she will be scheduling “Skip Level” meetings with some of us to talk to us about our experience working here. Has anyone else get something similar?
Do you know how widespread the effects are?
The calm before the storm. Third week of September. Best of luck to all.
