I am a remote Field Tech that is over 4 hours from the office, I cover close to 3000 sq miles. Hopefully this makes me safe but who knows anymore. Part of me wants to be let go but another part wants to keep the job a few more years until I can leave on my own terms.

Field tech as well 8hrs away from our nearest office. Don’t know if that matters though.
Your coverage area and actual work probably did not come into play on this decision. % headcount cut with seemingly different criteria for different groups. Everyone is at risk.
