Just going through the terms of the severance package, 44 pages.
It states that they recommend contacting a lawyer before signing. Has anyone that has received severance with T-Mobile done that?

HR won't help you review it. They're on the company's side, not the employees.
If you have the extra added benefit of MetLife legal plan, I wonder if we can use it lol. Idk if a lawyer from can review it
That line is so that if you ever come back and say you didn’t understand something they can say, “Hey, we advised you to get an attorney!”
Odds are this is boilerplate and - depending on your level - they ain’t gonna modify it for you anyway.
Question you must ask is: are you ok with the money, health insurance, and other benefits offered to you in exchange for whatever they’re demanding? (I assume there’s non disclosure, non disparagement, advisement that you can’t use or disclose company secrets, etc)
If you can find a reasonable attorney, it’ll probably cost you 300-500 to review and if that gives you piece of mind, it’s not gonna break the bank.
It's boilerplate and very common in most severance packages. The companies do it for CYA.
Why?
Directors and higher should definitely get a lawyer. ICs may want to if they can get someone to review it cheaply, but probably won’t make a difference.
I don’t know anyone that has done that. Best to just read it carefully and ask HR who is available to help for any explanations you need.
Yes..100 percent
That was quick for your letters.
