CEOs are not as d-mb as what people make them out to be on this forum.

Well, on the positive side, you get to read some very funny and delusional comments.

Putting TD in its own PNL is like move the deck chairs around on the deck of the Titanic.

Nobody is surprised by such behavior from Intel.

I am not sure why this is a surprise. Moving TD into its own P&L is a step in this direction.

The CFO was explaining the underutilization charges and the pre PRQ write offs on the earnings call.

He also dropped an interesting tidbit when explained that Intel will put the brakes on fab spending ramps until the demand picture improves.

This is 'code' for Intel is in trouble and has to manage the cash burn much more carefully. Cost of capital is rising due to Intel debt downgrades and 'higher for longer' interest rates.

I hope they can fix it, but as Andy used to say 'Hope is not a strategy'...

Pretty funny... so, now Intel realizes actions have cost consequences...

I have asserted that Intel has never been focused on cost. They never had to as they were living on x86 monopoly.

So, here we have the CEO trying to attack the #1 silicon manufacturer in the world that has decades lead, lower cost, better ecosystem, better technology, smarter workers and experienced management team....

and Pat and his team are at baby step 1, 'oh gee, if we want to make money we have to realize we need to make wafers at a cost competitive price... and gee, if we have extra steppings or pre PRQ silicon we have to scrap that and it hurts are margins...'

DUH
