Ok..so real talk about cobra....it's the exact same as what you had chosen last open enrollment..it's insanely expensive...and not to tow the company line..cause fu-k tmo...it's what they pay for you minus your monthly...sooo...yes expensive...fu-k healthcare pricing in general
It would be amazing if people actually read the documentation that was given to them. But then again their inability to read or follow directions was probably a reason why they were laid off in the first place.
"I don't think that is right. You only have your insurance though the end of the month you were notified. Then TMO covers COBRA for two months. So insurance through November if you are notified in September."
No. Some notified last week have an end date of 10/27/23. So their insurance ends 10/31 and T-Mobile pays for COBRA for November and December. Folks laid off this week have an end date of 11/3/2023. So their insurance ends 11/30. T-Mobile pays Cobra December and January.
"have insurance through either the end of October or end of November depending on your last day. Then company paid Cobra for 2 months"
I don't think that is right. You only have your insurance though the end of the month you were notified. Then TMO covers COBRA for two months. So insurance through November if you are notified in September.
Cobra is CRAZY! It's the full cost for the insurance plan. If you subtract what biweekly cost out of our checks was from that number, that is what Tmobile paid every month of that cost.
Cost?
Cobra is always high. People in this round of layoffs should have insurance through either the end of October or end of November depending on your last day. Then company paid Cobra for 2 months. After that, you have the option of continuing Cobra and paying yourself.
