Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Sapo

I would like to share my observations during my time here, although I acknowledge that my experience may not reflect everyone's perspective. I've noticed that those who seem to be in a secure position are often the representatives who go above and beyond, supporting their leaders even to the point of disregarding their own well-being. Even during times of low morale, these representatives consistently made their presence felt. It's disheartening to witness how these same individuals returned to acting as if nothing had changed after the WFR. This experience has highlighted the harsh reality of this environment, revealing elements of heartlessness and even racial bias.

Seeing how certain level 3/4 representatives persist in trying to curry favor even amidst challenging times leaves me with a sense of disappointment. I envision some of these representatives mindlessly consuming whatever is put in front of them, only to turn and encourage others to do the same, with the reasoning that "it's for your own good."

The i10/i9 are uneducated political hoodlums in Dell. They have an unspoken understanding between each other when it comes to organized harassment and coverup.
They only do politics and are most unethical beings on earth.
All these politicians under the guise of mgr/i10/i9 should be removed immediately if Dell is keen on improving its brand name.

1cku+1omYov8X: you must be i10.
Based on how you deflected the discussion from incompetency of i10 doing politics to justifying that their victims arent good at their job.
You evaluated the performance of a stranger without knowing what they worked on .
Shows the real state of politics done by i10 like you.
No wonder Dell cant hire qualified individuals. HR is struggling to find you under the politics you have been doing.
Dont worry karma awaits you and your family. Ever wonder why gruesome events happen to somd people? It is coz of you.

1cnc+1omYov8X or maybe you are not very good at your job and need to find alternate reasons for your lack of success. Either way WFR awaits

1gqk+1omYov8X , True. Tier 1 companies wont tolerate their behavior. Very shocking to see the caliber of i9/i10 in Dell. Even more so because they ensure the team is never productive, as they now have to avoid the traps being laid out by i9/i10. It is like one drop of poison that ruins the whole dish.
Mgr who leads the team is the king politician.
I guess every dog has its day.

In my role there are lots of politics. The i9/i10 grade roles generally manipulate what is seen or presented and it's 100% to make them look good to the director and VP - with little care in regard to what they are actually doing. The players under them who are generally grades i6-i8 provide much of the clarity and understanding of the tools and customers.. if not for the lower grade level knowledge the upper level would be screwed completely as they are just a middle man who are mostly the SMEs of Microsoft tools.. sometimes not even that.

Age is relevant to show their experience in EMC politics and how smoothly they can destroy another person without guilt because they have been doing it in EMC for over 20 yrs.
Cloud will never go anywhere because people who work based on merit will not want to stay in a team whose main skill is being a political player.

Age has nothing to do with ideas. Experience does.

The leadership here is good in 1 set of narrow things. What they need is to bring in people who understand how to build and deliver software in the cloud, if we want to do that successfully.

Whoever said age has to do with anything shows their youthful ignorance.

Dell has a lot of old school ideas especially when they are 65+ yr olds. The moment they feel someone younger is smarter and more intelligent , they play politics to get rid of the person.
It is true but sad that these are the guys steering the current new teams at the top.

The 65+ yr old EMC veteran will never allow anyone else to grow .
By the time Dell realizes that it was a mistake to keep them around, it would have cost so many their jobs due to bad decisions by this EMC veteran.
Check out Tier 1 companies they welcome new ideas.

I dont know if this is seen with others , but I noticed that military veterans have untreated PTSD that they bring to work place. They are aware of it and yet subject employees to their anger management issues.
This is unacceptable. The person at Dell is high in the food chain so the victims remain quiet. I hope someone notifies HR because his behavior only pushes other people to depression.
And he covers up his tracks. It is more dangerous because he plans and grooms his victims to normalize his verbal attacks.
Dell work policies need to be implemented for everyone alike.

Well said. After almost 40 years in Mainframe storage maintenance, I very much agree. Many of us trapped are in the vacuum of old work ethic and the reality of the workplace 40 years after we started, is still difficult to get our minds around. In the 1980's and 90's nothing mattered but a job well done and customer satisfaction. I don't fit in anymore and I know it. I'm thankful for the years the business supported me and provided a retirement. I would not like to be starting a career in this industry today.
