Why would Elon want to buy a garbage company whose only working satellites are old ones?

Imagine ….. Elon was the one complaining about Viasat buying Inmarsat ….
Then he buys essentially both companies lmao

How do people still want to work for a company that lies to go face and has multiple RIFs within a year lol

I mean someone noted security is all cost. The way we calculate things here, engineering is a cost center too. Definitely not ideal, no one wants to be in the cost bucket when its cutting time...

Not sure why I’m seeing Wednesday, I mean right after the shareholders meeting, which is odd….
I’m hearing this coming Monday… and gonna just be like the last group of layoffs.

So do it the day after a shareholder meeting? Why? They would probably get a stock boost doing it before the 7th?

Timing is getting more odd...

Heard another person from the security team got let go. Makes sense, security/facilities cost $$$$ and don’t make profit.

That person doesn't realize that contracts can sometimes fail to renew, and the govt awards the contract to someone else.

What’s up with is this copy/paste comment under me? Looks like someone’s doing damage control…

Inmarsat was bought, largely, because of their established contracts. I think good will come from that. Also once VS3 flight 2 is launched and bringing in revenue, Viasat will catch-up. A runner can trip and fall and still get back up to win a race.

A related cross over with L3Harris Layoffs to be sure. If Viasat spins your group off beware. The grass isn't always greener.

I’ve seen this at my last job. When the company was in debt, a lot of supervisors and managers sent up false complaints to HR resources to get employees fired so their job can be safe.
HR wasn’t doing their due diligence since it was an easy way to save money….
I repeat…. DO NOT TRUST YOUR MANAGER OR SUPERVISOR.
They ain’t your friends, and will dime you out in a heartbeat to save their own skin.
