I don’t see any layoffs coming in the US. They want folks to quit but not giving pay raises.

I worked at Oracle for a decade before the vapor/cloud crew took over. That earnings call was awful. First question - the analyst called out the obvious. They panic, go full word salad mode (sooo MANY things) and then Safra says “ I don’t know Larry… He jumps in - half as much, twice as much - She corrects him - all while someone is twisting a phone cord as tight Mark Hurd’s tennis strings. Holy F.
incredible…

Yes. After reading your question management decided to add your entire team to the list.

Bon voyage!

Just waiting for the package over here...

That's always the excuse used by employees who don't have the gumption to just up and leave. It's the oldest story around. Thing is though, nobody is ever guaranteed a package, except for the honchos at the top. My guess is you aren't one of them.

Maybe so, but it does not mean that every person who says it does not have the wherewithal to leave. Hope the logic overload does not fry your neurons.
And no, I am on the bottom rung...

LOL the GBU's are a complete joke. We have an entire BDC team (ACE) who takes inbound leads and directs them to sales reps.... literally secretaries making $85k a year with zero sales skills. Keep in mind, each GBU sales team has dedicated outbound BDC's. It brings a ton of confusion to customers and sales reps daily. Please for the love of god get rid of this inbound BDC team and let us sales reps work our own leads or have our industry specific BDC's work them. This has become the bane of my existence at Oracle and considering leaving because of the amount of deals I lose due to this broken process.

Legit knew one girl who her entire job every week was to update on excel sheet.

At least she did it. How many out there don't even do that?

Yea, the bar is indeed set that low.

There are a TON of people hiding in GBU's. Legit knew one girl who her entire job every week was to update on excel sheet. And not like with formulas or stuff it might take some time to recreate. Legit copy/paste, change date, change version, send to masses.

Excellent!

Legit copy/paste, change date, change version, send to masses. There are lots of folks in the GBU's hiding and have titles that include the word manager; dont manage anyone, a third grader could do their job, always act busy and hair on fire, legit lives in an on prem world and probably couldn't explain in 100 words what the cloud is. The GBU's are great place for folks that would never get hired in real to hide.

“AI is only good at copying things and making up lies.“

Looks like Oracle management has some competition from AI

They need a consultant to tell them laying off producers is stupid and even more stupid is allowing those that have filed fraudulent patents, using their expense reports to wash their own money because of reimbursement for personal expenses sets VPs up for tax fraud, not reporting income. Yes, personal expenses reimbursed is taxable income.
Moreover, overlooking employees being fired by VP so he can bonus himself is also a setup for Corp to send mid mgmt to jail.

There is a reason LE mentioned one of the hardest things he’s ever had to do back in 1990 was to fire mgmt because Oracle had outgrown them.

There are research groups that are making billions off of mgmt corruption & abusing employees.

please, the people on top are sleazy and skilless
regular hard-working folks should not be making it easier for them
since more than like they are responsible for the decline
you'll get a package - they will want to cover their sleazy a-s legally
the package will be meant to buy your silence and for some good PR

I saw a guy literally sleeping on his job making $15 an hour this past weekend. I woke him the first time because I needed something. When I saw it again 20 minutes later, I let him rest.

You are a kind soul.

Kindness seems to be rare anymore, though it shouldn't be.

If someone from upper mgmt would have been there they would have picked the man's pockets, then given him a kick when they had taken everything they could.
