When Wayne goes the next CEO will have to do what Joe did. Stick reporting execs between the CEO and the Boblovers who don't exit. "Promotiondemotions" Then burn the next 6-10 quarters rebooting the culture.
The longer Wayne stays the harder it will be to do that and instead the next CEO will have no choice to clear execs out. Believe it or not that also tanks morale. The employees who stay glued to their work and avoid the gossip will then feel adrift as everyone else.
Yes. The EC had to bring in sycophants to remind them how wonderful they are. Those sycophants had to bring in support teams of their own, to help drive out the more expensive (meaning older) managers and directors, so they could be replaced with much cheaper (meaning inexperienced) people, so that all these do-nothings at the top could give themselves massive raises.
