Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Are the layoffs happening one on one? Or mass group notices?

I’m curious how the layoffs are being handled? Are folks being notified one on one or mass group?

I cash every vested RSU every vesting cycle at market opening. Every damn time. Stock is a substantial portion of executive income. It means nothing except I want cash.

T-mobile, the Un-Employer ! While 5000 Job cuts take place, Sievert cashes out half a mill in stocks.

"T-Mobile is moving toward automation. Don't be surprised if you just get a laid off text thanking you for your service."

This. A few weeks ago, our entire department had a massive presentation on the AI tools we'll be using and implementing in our work down the line. Everyone was joking about how we're not "out of a job YET". But believe me TMO is actively looking and applying AI tools in our workflow that will/are already eliminating jobs.

I'm not all AI = boogeyman, as long as it means less grating work and making things easier, but T-Mobile isn't THAT kind of company. They'd wipe out a thousand people if it meant C-Suite keeps their perks and we get to make cheesy commercials.

I don't know if it was i365 but some recent training had replaced all the actors with AI. The creative/studio team is certain to get a sweep once AI takes off.

Only the stocks that were going to vest early next year will vest, the other two thirds will not.

Just got a heads-up that I might be laid off next week. So, I'll be working from home until my login stops working. Bunch of Managers, Sr. Managers, Directors and engineers are on the list, especially redundant Area model management layers, On the bright side, after 19 years, I’ll be receiving a nice package and all my stocks will be vested. Looks like I'm using T-Mobile's money to pay off my mortgage! Excited for my upcoming break. Stay positive and take care, everyone. Bless up! 🙌🏼

The names who are on the chopping block is already known by the leaders. Likely your manager or director will make a meeting to have a one on one on chop day. This is also predetermined. If you are selected, don’t go out of your way to transition. They already deemed you as being worthless.
