Thread regarding USAA layoffs

This is getting ridiculous

How are we supposed to maintain a positive work environment with layoffs being omnipresent? How are we supposed to focus on our work and remain productive when we have to worry about having a job every minute of every waking day? This leadership expects too much from us and offers us too little in return.

Some folks with high severance options seem to be relieved. The rest, not so much. I’ve heard people say they would like to volunteer, but I don’t believe that is an option.

I’m actually working the very least that is required of me to not get fired until I feel safer about my job lol

Didn't many of those early ECIO layoffs come from Jason's org?

To quote Jason Witty during the first round of layoffs: "USAA employees have handled layoffs with class".

I am on the same boat for more than a year now. I put these same comments in my monthly digital pulse survey but nothing positive is happening. It's so depressing.

With the constant org change, looming layoffs, palpable culture decline, and lack of any mobility for remote staff, I've lost all sense of motivation and loyalty. Previously, I would have bent over backward for these folks and defended this company fiercely. Now, I'm doing the bare minimum, perhaps even less, hoping for a swift exit. It is a cautionary tale to not get too attached knowing all companies see you only as a dispensable pawn on a chess board.
