If you’re worried about layoffs you must be lucky enough to be under a good leader to want to keep your job. Our department is struggling to keep employees, GOOD employees, because no one wants to work under our manager. For Gods sake listen to employees when they complain about bad leaders!! Mine does a heck of a job making themselves look good to those above but everyone below and anyone else is treated like we’re disposable garbage. I’m leaving too. We have voiced our concerns and they land on deaf ears every time.. No one cares anymore. What happened to Centene???!! It didn’t used to be this way.

In the last three weeks we’ve had three team members quit. In the last three months we’ve had four quit, 2 fired.( Could be more, I lost count )No replacements in sight and work load tripled and now told 70% of the team has to work on all holidays. Used to be 25%. Then the bonuses are gone… What ‘s the incentive to work your a-s off anymore and do above and beyond.
This week… my boss had nothing but criticism to say about something I worked on for over two weeks. She nitpicked the most minor things…. Everyone else including leaders above my boss had nothing but praise… but my boss likes to put us down for every single little thing in private and make us feel horrible about ourselves. I wonder if OP is on the same team as me because my manager is exactly the same way. I used to worry about being laid off. Couldn’t care less these days. Centene doesn’t care about those of us under bad leadership. I have complained to senior leaders and to HR. Months ago. Nothing has been done because my boss knows how to cover her tracks and I have no solid proof so it’s just my word against hers.. Is what it is. Just means it’s time to get out.
The place is getting from bad to worse, they are getting rid off of really good people, and with the weak clown CEO that is in place, it will not get fixed anytime soon.
I was once very proud to be a part Centene. Gone were the days of excellent training, strict guidelines and processes followed and the word “accountability” was in existence.
