Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Is a RIF coming?

Things are slow. We are not selling much. When was the last time you saw Lumen announce a major win? When was the last time you saw any capital projects in your area?

Is a reduction in force coming?

Will Lumen be offering a VSP?

Thoughts?

"90% of area is only copper. A very small amount of fiber is being placed as compared with the copper footprint. In 10 years there will still be less than 50% of the copper area replaced with fiber. This company will be 40% smaller in 10 years. After fiber install is done not much is needed again for maintenance. I just retired and my area has had very little work in three years. All copper DSL"

That's the GRAND PLAN. Lumen only wants small footprint of Quantum areas and ki-l the rest. Copper is dead. You can't raise the dead.

Where on earth do you work? It’s not slow anywhere in the 14 states I cover.

I’ll keep working the o.t. Take that money. May not be there in a month.

It's obvious that with all the great minds here, we can't figure out what The Board and the SLT are thinking.
It hasn't mattered what new low we hit on stock price, they are standing firm and unwavering, ignoring the warning signs and pretending that all is well. Hey, maybe a book club is the answer ....oh wait ostriches with their heads in the sand or up somewhere else can't read and flip pages.

Makes me think that there must be some grander plan, something that the knuckleheads are holding out for,
besides their own mega salaried and golden parachutes.

If no other company wants to buy us because of our debt, does this hold true for private equity companies too? Are they a different beast?

They will have people working overtime until they close the doors.

The negative people on here are not happy!
They don't want to hear it.
Actually where I work, we're staying busy with limited technicians. I as COT, I get about 10-15 hours of OT every week.

Building out fiber so fast here we can’t keep up. Mandatory ot for the last 3 years due to fiber builds. Suspect it’s the same in most major cities. Not enough employees and can’t even get enough contractors. Layoffs or buy outs aren’t coming anytime soon unless you’re in a small town dominated by copper.

Same here. 3 guys working OT every day.
Nearby Quantum area is staying very busy.

Mandatory OT for what? Troubles or new installs or both?

AT&T laying off 15,000 due to lack of sales.
Verizon laying off 1000's due to lack of sales.
Tmobile laying off 5,000 due to lack of sales.
Lumen surely layoff 1000's due to lack of sales.
