Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

We are all family at T-Mobile, until we are not

It strikes me odd that the CEO, who just received a 5-year employment contract extension, is the same person announcing a 7% or nearly 5000 person layoff. I understand the C-suite operates by very different rules. But it still rings hallow given that every quarterly meeting we see the execs telling us how GREAT things are going, what FABULOUS opportunities lie in front of us, and the GROWTH path we are all on.

At the last meeting, someone asked why aren't people more engaged like the presenting executives are at the quarterly meetings. I'll bet people would be a lot more positively engaged if we all earned multiple millions every year like everyone on stage. It is a lot easier to have no anxiety when a mortgage, tuition, and healthcare costs are not top of mind. People just don't trust the smiling and laughing execs anymore when they say everything is going so well! And for good reason, since soon T-Mobile will layoff thousands of our colleagues.

So at the next meeting when these same executives say how awesome everything is going, dutifully smile and clap. But remember that we are all family at T-Mobile...until we are not.

To be fair on this, think about it, if a company is not doing well, having financial problems, whose responsibility is? Is the one making their hands dirty doing a daily job IC folks? Or the leader driving the ship? So the fact is when it needs to be adjusting the workforce, the IC is penalized. This is called fairness. Good luck my teammates.

Mike is a sociopath. He only cares about himself. T-Mobile is a slowly sinking ship. It was John Legere that made TMO successful. Mike is riding the wave and the show is over.

Wonder if that Blue Angels stunt rang his bell a little.

Squeeze more with less to get that $175/share....cash out, buy new toys, rinse, wash, and repeat. Guaranteed top execs look forward to times like this. Ain't gonna lie, I'd do the same.

Mike is a good man. Leave him alone.

We are growing, and it’s costing too much to acquire customers. You can blame AT&T’s “same as new” for the escalation in promotional intensity and its costs.

SLT may have known in June when the Board met about Q2 results. Sievert and SLT were later cheerleading about Q2 results but one analyst correctly observed a revenue miss.

You saw the truth in Sievert's email this morning. We are not growing and it is costing too much to acquire new Customers.

Mike Sievert is a con man. He'll sell out whoever he needs to make a buck

He let on in the All hands that this was coming.

He cares about himself, not us.
