Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The End is Nigh.

Prepare yourself, don't be caught off guard. Y

our livelihood is tied to Intel's results so, you should do everything you can to understand the IFS strategy and determine yourself if you think it can succeed or not.

Gupta and Sanjay were just spotted crossing the grassy field returning from the wilderness to JF3.

Having eaten grasshoppers and honey, they too declare that the end is NIGH.

Intel is too big to fail.
Brand image and name is everything.

If the end is near then that means we can finally start anew.

Intel leaders live in an alternate reality where it’s still 1999 and the PC is all the rage.

The world has passed Intel by and nobody seems to have noticed or cared…

which supports the @Op point... only the d-mbest of workers can be excused from understanding the products and prospects of the company. Keep on splitting hairs, that's consistent with Intel culture to be sure.

@wyw Hint, it’s not an assembly line. It’s highly automated.

Intel people are totally internally focused. Their adversaries are all internal. That is the main reason why it should be split up.

Consulting companies are typically hired by a weak management who cannot bring itself to do the right thing. Everyone knows what needs to be done. But it's hard to fire a useless co-worker, a friend, or a mistress.

We don't need to understand the products, we have Bain consultants coming aboard to help us figure out who needs to get fired next.

One thing that surprised me about Intel workers is how little they understand about the markets and the products. You might be able to forgive that for some manufacturing line workers but I am talking about very senior people in the organization.
