Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I hate this place

People give it their all year after year to get where they are and for what? To not have any job security even if they are carrying their team on their backs? To be treated like cr-p by managers who are below them in both knowledge and experience but are great at buttkissing? What's the point?

Oh yes, layoffs of experienced leader/tech, replaced by elite groups, leader with no clue in IT with empire building attitude and assigning clueless leaders to build controls. Doesn’t feel it’s Dell any more.
Never seen level of chaos and ignorance.
It’s seemed regime over take all over specially IT area.

@OP+1oemCXj3 A man of your questionable skills should have no problem soaring to the top asap.Your strongest asset seems to be the ability to pat yourself on the back. Im sure there is a vast demand for that across every industry.Heres hoping you get whacked tmrw and can reach your true potential elsewhere

I said no one is entitled to a severance unless if written in a contract. basic labour law knowledge is important

@exp+1oemCXj3 And you'll definitely be entitled to nothing if you hand in your notice.

Word of advice to anyone in the company longer than 5-7 years. Let them get rid of you, not the other way round. They want you to leave so they can keep their soft-earned bonuses.

Way too many consultants that only know Microsoft tools. SMEs of nothing leeching the 411 from those who are several grades below them that know what's going on. So annoying. Butt kissing is where its at now, not knowledge.

Do not leave. Let them give you severance if you have any kind of tenure. There are people here posting who would love if you left without your entitlements.

Leave and find something else. I spent over 2 decades at Dell and finally left on my terms and it was the best move. Life is too short to be miserable. The severance packages will continue to be cut back so hanging around for that is not a solid choice.

"People are just fed up with the terrible leadership, toxic culture and senseless rambling of AI"

Most if the ELT have been around 20+years. They have fat stocks that they want to protect value. They aren't interested in truly improving the company, rather only keeping things a float long enough to keep their portfolios valuable before the retire. This is the problem and why the culture clash.

I also hate the place but I work with some very competent people and I have reported into some very competent people. You sound like you know it all. You should let everyone know you know it all.

Nepo babies are the only happy ones with job security. Never see them posting about being part of a WFR—even the ones in sales

They do not owe you anything. In fact you sound very entitled. A petulant middling

remember there was no g-n to your head.

This will continue month after month and year after year. It will never change, Dell is circling the drain. Company moral is at an all time low, I have never seen it this bad. People are just fed up with the terrible leadership, toxic culture and senseless rambling of AI.

Welcome to every publicly traded company in the world. This is why millenials think old ideas like two weeks notice or going the extra mile is a joke. And they are right.

Then leave.
