Thread regarding CVS layoffs

I've never been so grateful....

...to not have been laid off and to continue to watch the company fall apart from the inside while doing next to nothing yet still getting paid.. CVS is a CV MESS.. no one cares within the rank and file because of this disaster of a layoff.. poorly executed to say the least.. meanwhile, Karen still gets her millions.

HR has never been good or reliable - very sad that those people are in HR, especially leadership is not ethical so no surprise that yet again they rolled out a messy process. Just look at centralization of Medicaid, not one single manage ever received even a single message, email or training on how to implement such an enormous change. And nearly 3 years later, still a mess

I loved working for Aetna. I bled the red white and blue of Aetna US Healthcare, laughed at the blue and yellow logo man, and then felt the company was finally back on the right course with Ron Williams and Mark Bertolini at the helm.
CVS acquired when I was in my 25th year of employment, and I hoped that with Karen Ly--h some of our integrity would remain. I was wrong. Now I am laid off. Sad to see such a long-standing reputation run into the ground. And worse, I don’t know who to feel worse for - providers who can’t get paid, me without a job, or my team trying to keep it limping along while awaiting the loss of their own jobs.

I think it's rapidly becoming apparent that Karen's days are numbered. Sure, she will unfortunately leave with her millions. But that won't be good enough for her. She will lose all her power and the attention she receives. It's obvious that no one in their right mind would hire her again, so she's going to be rich but ignored (if not even shunned by her top executive peers). To people with egos like hers, that will be a fitting end.

it was definitely fun listening to our vp talk about gearing up to hire after laying off all the senior SMEs on the team and that we're "refocusing on expertise"

this company is full of people who failed up

all they are about is the bottom line and padding their resumes. Cut costs by billions and increased revenue.....They do not care that they are burying the company. They'll move on and let the successors try to fix the damage. By then, it will be too late.

They’re another team that is trying to rebuild the same process we already have in production. Timeline is end of Jan 2024 for completion. I got a feeling once their process is smooth out, my team will be gone. I already started to look for a new role

True, true and true. To add some historical perspective, John Scully had to be one of the worst. He ran PepsiCo down, fought with Steve Jobs, fired Steve Jobs, and ran Apple to the brink. He is now 84 and is on the Board of numerous start-ups. The Future is Indeed Very Bright for Karen. Wall Street uses advanced Analytics on Workers but not CEOs. I predict that she gets to the end of the track with $500 million to $1Billion.
