What is wrong with HR that they can’t find a workable Personnel Rating? This latest one looks like the biggest piece of s#@t to date. In fact it’s a recycled management tool from the 1970’s or older. Does HR ever make anything better or do they just keep recycling old ideas and create endless busy work to justify their own existence. Every year we have more and more pointless EHS trainers that are nothing other than Legal CYA’s. Those CYA’s actually are totally ineffective in a Lawsuit, but he-l let’s do them anyway. This what a company looks like that has lost its way from the top down. The “Win Harvest Grow” says all you need to know, total undefinable tripe.

I retired after being laid off in a recent RIF at Seagate. For me, it worked out well. I feel for everyone who were not as lucky as me.
My experience in my nearly 45 years of work in high tech is that there is little that is new in HR. It is recycled from other companies that say that their new idea was successful. But HR tries these programs to demonstrate their value to the company.
Remember, you can’t spell “who cares” without HR.
All I know is the programmers who came up with the training video successfully created the most painful 45 minutes in my life since the invention of on-line training.
Running the same stuff at WD

Enter making the ceo rich as your key objective. It will truly align all the way to the top. Think that’s not the real #1 objective?
Agree totally with OP. Busy work that doesn’t change a thing. I miss the days of just getting my “3” and moving forward.
It's Seagate trying to copy more successful companies, but with half the talent. Mediocre companies substitute process for talent.
