Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Increased targets - wtf??

I just got my quota letter - it’s literally a 37% over last quarter. How am I supposed to do that with my boomer AE who does 0% of the work?

I have 0 career outlook at this place (yes I have an IDP), I love the people but the tools (DSA is still buggy in EMEA!!!) and processes drive me crazy!

Also no promotions whatsoever- severely underpaid by market value + the recent firing rounds don’t make me really motivated tbh.

Just wanted to vent.

perhaps they are expecting a massive shift back in time and customers to come begging for product. The beatings will continue until morale improves

if you quit, they don't have to pay you severance (or unemployment). Stick it out as long as you can. Save your money. Work on learning new skills.

I truly believe the RTO is designed to make people quit voluntarily. And raising quotas is the next move.

UK MB management overlooks the challenges of high targets and impact of potential layoffs has on morale. The team is expected to achieve increases of 200% to 400% for targets, which are considered goals to strive for by management.

However, in reality, hitting these targets leads to more work for less pay. When the team falls short of these demanding goals, blame is placed on them instead of acknowledging the issue lies with the unrealistic targets set by the business.

The UK MB team has bad morale and a closed off management team with Tell Dell ignored and a massive push for 3 days a week in the office.

When they raise your quota they indirectly cut your bonus = less total salary paid out.

You can't meet your target so your bonus is 10% lower, 20% lower etc..

Enjoy!

all those comments making fun of sales guy's "whining", please understand that the sales target is increased because that is the last resort . The customer has seen the product, they are unwilling to buy it. So the ultimate ditch effort is to go all in with sales. If that also fails then the "leaders" can say it was the team that failed. Not their decision making.

Did you think they would reduce staff and also reduce the targets. Less staff means everyone left does more.

I have heard some server and storage targets have gone up 200 to 400% in some cases from last quarter
Im in Cherrywood by the way and the morale is in the toilet with management blaming us not working on site for low morale.
Also a major push to go back to site 3 days a week.
Pushing us out softly.
This is all very well until somebody breaks due to stress.

How else will they justify the next round of layoffs? They need to have impossible targets, when those are not achieved, they have the excuse the lay off people! Expect stupid targets like this until the employee count is under 100k!
