A true “hybrid” is 2 days in office, not 3 and definitely not 4. So with the required 3 days starting up on Sept 1 and then moving to 4 in Jan 2024, this is what will probably happen. USAA wants the buildings occupied, no secret on that. Wayne knows 3 days is very unpopular, which is why he moved it to 4 days come Jan 1 2024. He wants employees to embrace 3 days, then at the December employee meeting, he’ll say something like “after careful consideration, and hearing all the feedback, we’re staying at 3 days and will not move to 4 days next year.” And then everyone will applaud and Wayne will be thinking in that head of his “got you b_tches to like 3 days like I wanted all along.”

With Wayne’s ridiculous compensation, HE should be on campus 24x7x365!!!
If an employer is dictating how many days you should be in the office or what days you should be in, it's not the definition of hybrid at all - pure and simple! Wayne tries to spin it all these different ways, but most of us see thru the BS. Still waiting for those 'stats' where he mentioned that RTO was already making a difference in the balance sheet. He's just like that stoopid pillow guy, all kinds of stuff is coming soon but nothing ever turns up. It's always "tomorrow" or "later."
Companies lost power during Covid. People realized a work system from the mid 1900's isnt really needed. People also realized they dont have to work for basically slave labor. Now companies are he-l bent on recapturing that power by paying their employees like sh-t and making RTO policies.
I doubt any concessions will be made. It will be up to the next ceo to fix this CF we are in.
4 days is definitely not hybrid. I don’t have a problem with working 3 days in the office. This is happening everywhere. I just have a big problem with how Wayne has communicated everything. He really did our permanent remote people dirty. We aggressively hired many of them away from other companies with what turned out to be major lies.
Side note—-did you guys see Zoom is pushing people back into the office? Your product works so well for a remote work style. You should be leading by example!!!
Ya, the whole thing is a joke. I'm really looking forward to sitting in a cubicle on zoom all day some September. The complete lack of discussion on the matter is what really ki-led it for me, especially after the whole push to "classify" jobs a while ago.
USAA lists new jobs as "hybrid" still knowing they are going to a 4 day in office model in January. As if catfishing HUNDREDS of workers during covid wasn't enough they just keep at it. Very unethical company and these are the asswipes that "serve" the military lol gtfoh
I have worked either hybrid or full time remote for the last 12 years at other firms. My hybrid schedule, outside of the pandemic period, was always 3 days on site and 2 days remote with strict guidelines to follow. I understood that both remote & hybrid could be changed/withdrawn at any time. USAA is the only firm that allowed me to work 3 days remotely and 2 days onsite. This schedule attracted me to USAA, but I knew it was not written in stone. I am confident that I will find another company that meets the work/life balance schedule that I prefer.
