Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Time to Unionize

The only way to stop the abuse is to Unionize. From the National Labor Relations Board’s website:

The National Labor Relations Act forbids employers from interfering with, restraining, or coercing employees in the exercise of rights relating to organizing, forming, joining or assisting a labor organization for collective bargaining purposes, or from working together to improve terms and conditions of employment, or refraining from any such activity. Similarly, labor organizations may not restrain or coerce employees in the exercise of these rights. nlrb.gov

HR will try to gaslight you. Your manager will try to gaslight you. They will tell you it isn’t as bad as you think, that unions are dying, that unions will take your money and not do anything, but ask yourself why they are working so hard to try to keep you from unionizing…is it because they want what’s best for you? If that’s the case, then where is the transparency, the fairness, the compassion? Is it so hard to accept that the real reason is that unions get results, and that Wayne and the EC are terrified they might have to take away some of the extra bonuses and perquisites given to EMG, and give a little bit to non-EMG?

If you have ever worked in a union shop, you’d know how much it su-ks. Time in seat over skill. Union getting involved in every transaction and negotiation. No thank you.

Modern unions are essentially mafias that commit less violence and make their lawyers rich while convincing the unionized that they're working for their benefit. Unionization has been valuable in the past, but it is never the answer in contemporary America.

"Ridiculous post. Unions destroy so much."

I will never, for all of my days, understand conservatives. If you're on this site you KNOW that large corporate interests will NEVER act in the interest of employees. They will ALWAYS try to take more and more from them, leaving workers dependent and subservient.

Unions were the reason the United States became the enconomic powerhouse it was during the 50s and 60s. Then Reagan came along and demonized unions and look where we are now. Unionization is the only way we will ever achieve the kind of influence we need.

You may want to discuss the proposed abuse claims with the National Labor Relations Act/Union attorneys to find out what qualifies prior to openly initiating the action.
