Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

the new way to build morale

My PC was replaced by IT last week, and I informed a friend that it was a brand-new machine. My friend burst out laughing and said, "It's used exactly like the one before." Now, however, IT is only permitted to utilize equipment that appears to be brand-new. The company claims that used equipment lowers morale, therefore the equipment must be sent to decommission if it doesn't appear brand new. Then morale would be lifted by leading workers to assume they are receiving new equipment.

They laid off 2000 employees and instead of trying to find way to save money, they just keep looking for ways to spend money.

This has been the policy for quite some time. Machines so quickly hit end of life it doesn’t pay to try to recycle their use. I’d say this policy came into effect in 2018-19. They were spending more time troubleshooting refurbishment issues at the start and then during subsequent service calls than made sense.

They do provide refurbished machines if you have an issue and need an immediate replacement. You only have to have one to know that it is true the issues are vast.

This is really a non-issue. They aren’t buying them one by one over at the Costco or Sam’s.
