Has anyone affected by the layoff asked if it's possible to purchase the computer you were using? If so who did you contact?

You want to buy a tu-d?
Well, security breaches explained.
They probably want to check it for personal stuff and find a reason not to pay you.
Is this a real question? Most adults have a personal computer in addition to their WORK equipment. And if not, they should. Get one. Fast. MAKE NO ASSUMPTION OF PRIVACY.
Just thinking about using a work computer for personal business, banking, credit card information, passwords...is terrifying. Every machine I have ever received at work had someone else's information, files, etc. No, they are likely not scrubbed - very well.
The lull into a (very) false sense of security is so alarming, risky. Run to Costco, Sam's, Best Buy, somewhere, anywhere and buy a computer. I won't even go into the fact they didn't want you or the # of data breaches. Snap out of it!
It's mentally cleansing to rid yourself of your old machine, besides do yo REALLY THINK Corp Security would allow that???!
I apologize for being insensitive, but this does seem like the kind of question somebody that should have been laid off would ask.
I'm assuming you had a Lenovo laptop. Not sure why you'd want to do that, there is nothing special about the computers at work and even if they did sell it to you, it'd be completely wiped/reset so it'd be no different than buying a Lenovo from anywhere else. Lenovos are a dime and dozen and can be bought new or used from pretty much anywhere (check ebay if you're looking for a specific used model, there are a ton of lease returns there).
Purchase, not free. Did you read the post?
D-mbest question I have ever seen posted on a layoff forum.
Really, you want a company computer for free? lmao
You can get a way better computer for cheaper...
