Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

I don't feel like it's the weekend

I feel completely drained and unable to relax. While I know it might be over, the "for now" part keeps hanging over my head and fueling my anxiety. I wonder if this is how I'm going to be feeling all the time. One thing is clear, Centene has messed us up for a long time.

Can always go elsewhere. This isn’t out of the norm for big corp.

I survived many rounds of layoffs over the years. However, this time I was not fortunate, I got the boot after many many years of service I was stunned to say the least. I thought it was interesting, though that I was told supervisor and management don’t have input as to who gets to stay and go. However, my supervisors, BFFs survived, while the rest of us got let go!

Yes, feel the same and get to go back to being thrown into a "hurry up hurry up" project because mgmt dropped the ball and we have to play clean up to their mess. F them honestly. I'm over it :(

I feel the same. Even though " safe for now" I've been feeling mentally strained and depressed. I thought that my anxiety would be over. This totally ki-led the morale of the company

I’m glad it isn’t just me! I feel the exact same about this. I still feel depressed and stressed out.

There are PL that read and write on a third grade education level. It’s who you know, don’t let them define who you are or what you are capable of. Never give them power. I guarantee HR hires who they want with or without skills or education. Never beat yourself up because you aren’t in the in crowd, because that’s what this is a popularity contest.

I feel this as well. I have a BAS in this industry and it has not helped me at all. That is the disheartening part for me. I put my all into college and there are areas I’d love to be in, but even with the education, they want “experience “ and if you apply with only experience and no degree then they want the degree. I feel like it’s a never ending rejection cycle. This company recruited me , I had not applied so it gave me confidence and hope that my degree was finally going to take me somewhere. Yet here I am, stuck in an entry level position with no security and the worst mental health I’ve ever been in.

There's peace in knowing you have a marketable resume. I learned that myself once when I felt trapped in a job due to my lack of a college degree. I went back to school at night just to never have to feel trapped anywhere else.

Also, everyone in today's workforce has to accept that there's no such thing as job security. That's been gone for a long time already, but is even worse now and we're not going to see it improve.

I think if you're good on those two things, you can at least not be eaten alive by the stress of worrying about what will happen.

Best of luck!

Agree. Sorry for you and all of us who are feeling this way. I can honestly say, I believe I gave this company 110% on the regular. I had been so happy working from home. But not anymore. I plan to put an effort into looking a new job too. Good luck on your search.

I feel like I can't even decompress or relax. I hate this. I also feel like I have to spend every waking second browsing for jobs, cruising Linkedin, and submitting applications, because if I decide to take a couple of days off, I feel like I'll lose the perfect job opportunity. I'm not sure if anyone else feels this way.
