I know a few younger people who were cut, but I know many more of the more experienced, older employees who got the bad news this week. I know this was mentioned before, but is there really nothing to be done about a such blatant case of age discrimination?

The one in my department is over 50 and has 10 years with Centene.
Remember, according to the feds age, discrimination applies to anyone over the age of 40. https://www.eeoc.gov/age-discrimination#:~:text=The%20Age%20Discrimination%20in%20Employment,younger%20workers%20from%20age%20discrimination.
All I can say is, “you get what you pay for”. The younger gen want promotions and raises after a year. They demand a lot more, so good luck with younger or less skilled, if thats the case.
Unfortunately, I think this is more of a case of ‘salary’ discrimination. I appears in the effort to save the most $$ many who were more tenured, therefore most likely making more in the long run in their team (and yes, possibly making up an older demographic) were laid off, only for the position to be (most likely) posted again but at a MUCH lower pay-scale.
Check with EEOC
Need to prove it. To avoid age discrimination and such they usually include a sheet showing who all from your department was let go…shows their age, gender and role or tenure I think.
