Do we really need all the email communications from our crack corporate communications department? 2, 3, 4 a day? Really?
Make it go away! Do we really have that much good news to share company wide?

.... And the band played on!
an expression used to describe the deliberate masking or downplaying of an impending calamity by authorities, often attributed in reference to the band that played on deck during the sinking of the Titanic.
How are we going to hate on the sharing of good news? The hyperfocus on superficial morale boosting and culture may be what is barely holding this sinking ship afloat. What are they supposed to say "Look team, we realize we have been remaining stable only by spinning off assets and business units, and at some point, there will be nothing left but a shrinking customer base and unsurmountable debt. So we are all trying to keep a smile on while we head to bankruptcy/reorg OR by some miracle we get bought out, at which point, further divestures /downsizing will occur So be positive, happy , and strong, that we are working for a shrinking company that cannot grow because Lumen as it exists today, may not have any industry leading products, or customer base, which can grow fast enough to outpace our current debt. Be Brave! "
It goes to show that Kate's crew is all talk and no substance. I'm not surprised.
That have to say all this to keep the hopium levels at maximum.
It's a real life madhouse on steroids.
I can't even tell people about my job because its harder to believe than watching George Costanza "work" for the NY Yankees on Seinfeld.
Even something like Dilbert understates the true level of institutionalized incompetence and clueless management that is life at Lumen in 2023.
The people are great (most of them) but the workplace is generally toxic and largely dysfunctional.
Sadly the stock price is warranted by what is seen and experienced on a daily basis by those working here.
Unfortunately in a world that is increasingly corrupt and mad, Lumen fits right in.
There’s the Yes man! Go team go!
The whole place is just one big PR campaign. No actual substance.
You have the option not to read.
So please don't start a cry many river stories. 😢
