Low value work survey

Are we being punked with the “anonymous” survey request to share examples of low value work? If you have to send a survey you already know the answer. For starters stop with multiple layers of status reporting from everyone and their dog. Pull data from the tools being used to report status on project delivery (ex 15 people reporting on their piece of the same project is redundant.) Get it from JIRA tools or project manager and report on department specific objectives outside of project delivery. All other status reporting is busy work to make someone in leadership feel good. Next have actual discussions with the team that is left doing the work. Stop flipping work by email or IM. If you don’t have 15 minutes to have a conversation and allow Q&A then how important is the task? Third, stop reshuffling the same deck. Identify the three-five big projects that deliver on strategic corporate goals and everything else is lights on. Stop the politics and pork projects. If AI is corporate goal / strategy identify the path to deliver on that and make it top down middle out message to get the buy in at various levels of leadership instead of trying to get buy in and adoption on the front lines. That front line approach isn't working and results in unnecessary parallel escalations because people don’t agree and the concern then is about CYA. Anything else - unless it is a mandate - isn't a priority and to allow focus on delivering AI capabilities already blessed by leaders in multiple levels. All other work is BAU maintenance. Be kind and respectful to those who are left. The scrutiny and push to demonstrate value every day is draining morale to prove your worth.

Stupid people. Did they think about Lean Sux Sigma to remove waste? Or low value work?

Shows how incompetent these leaders are at EH.

GBD under O’Neill performed poorly and leader minimal govt experience

“The scrutiny and push to demonstrate value every day is draining morale to prove your worth.” COULD NOT AGREE MORE.

Curious if anyone who received this survey is willing to share (high-level) what area you’re in? I’m a manager in CSBD and didn’t receive or hear anything about it.

You're assuming they give a rat's a$$ about anything other than themselves. They DON'T. This company is a sinking ship, get out while you can - on your terms.

People are stuck with whatever assigned or not assigned to them. You can be easily assigned to low value work with the hidden purpose of training offshore and H1B visa workers. They will apply your knowledge for high value work.
