Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Wait….After all these years, you’re finally saying the X86 is NOT going to make a comeback?

Maybe we should get into the mobile chip business. LOL

There is no x86 in any Apple phone you wingnut.

The radio IP comes from Qualcomm and Apple does pay a license to them.

Apple did buy Intel’s modem division, but again, there’s no x86 IP there since that came from Infineon. X86 in radio would be extraordinarily d-mb.

Imagine using Apple products and not knowing they have licensed x86 in the radio IP. Tell me you are not an Intel employee without telling me you are not an Intel employee…

IPhone, Apple Watch, MacBook Pro, Mac Air, iPad, and upgrade my phone every two years.

Last x86 was 9 years ago.

TSMC is the winner going away.

Intel has no chance in Foundry

No, x86 is not the dominant compute platform.
It’s ARM.

Smartphones are computers and sell at 10x the volumes of PCs.

It’s the reason TSMC is ahead of Intel.
It’s amazing that even today, people at Intel think x86 is ‘dominant’.

x86 is still dominant. No need for a comeback. ARM has made inroads, of course, especially with Apple.

The additional wrinkle is that AMD is the better x86 designer, with an actual world class fab partner in TSMC.

The 70's called, they want their x86 architecture back.
