Is it even worth it to apply within or have we all been blackballed???

I know someone who was let go this last round, applied for a different team and was hired on that other team. Their start date for the new team coincided with the termination date of the last layoffs. So yes, you can still remain employed at centene if another team wants you.
I was laid off in Aug. I have applied for 3 internal jobs that I am perfectly qualified for. Turned down for all 3.
Well I tried to return to an opening in a previous sister company and was turned down right away. I haven't been laid off yet but I have a feel in my day is today
This is better than the movies... You all have the wildest ideas about how the world functions.
My friend who was laid off was told there’s a hiring freeze. It’s not true though because my dept is hiring with offers being extended this week or early next week.
It makes perfect sense to fire thousands of people instead of training them for the supposedly open positions they need filled. They want you to go through the entire application process again. Just so they can lowball you on wages as a new hire. It took them from June of 2020 to October of 2020 to finalize my position and on board me. 5mths...and at this rate why would you want to work for them? Not saying anyplace else is better bcuz every place has their issues but no thank you.
My team just sent an email that there is an internal opening and to "tell your friends before it gets posted externally!"
WHAT!?
No one on my team has been affected but they are in la la land.
More layoffs are coming. They do not reward service or loyalty. The higher paid, benefitted positions will be out. They think they are safe. They need to be here reading the 1000s of messages.
