Why can’t directors and VPs be laid off instead of engineers and product managers who actually do the work..embarrassing leadership at the top

My director was let go. Ambetter SS PA
I wish they'd "lay off" my site director. Complete and total pill to deal with. With how we have been treated by them over the last few years, it would be karmic for one of them to be them.
Directors, Senior directors, and VPs were let go.
State plan here…there were directors let go.
Also…unless their whole team was let go, leadership roles are still needed for those that remain — at least to write and complete reviews.
I’ve noticed that they’ll keep managers and above safe until after reviews are written.
I personally know of a staff VP and a director who were RIF’d Monday. Please stop with the conspiracy BS.
I’m aware of three sr directors (IT), directors (business and IT) and at least on VP (IT) so far. There may be more but those folks are also losing their positions.
Often the higher level positions are notified later in the cycle.
Oh darling, now that would be uncivilized.
Not sure why any devs would stay here past their very first job. Pay and benefits are subpar at best, and HR policies put a stranglehold on growth, not a great combination, without even beginning to talk about layoffs....
I cannot recommend this company for software engineers or architects..they will ruin their career here
