Have any of the laid off employees been required to sign an NDA? I was told by a manager that they were threatened with being fired if they discussed any of the layoffs or details but they were not required to sign an NDA either. Just threatened. Isn't that the definition of a hostile work environment???

I don’t believe there’s an NDA but they hold that severance paperwork over your head during your final runout period (for those not immediately released).
People don’t talk in specifics or disclose anything because there are lots of ways to lose out on that money. A specific dollar amount or department would immediately tell HR who revealed the terms.
That was not at all appropriate. It was not their story to tell.
No NDA here. Appears that some of the parameters around the conditions of departure are dependent upon your position.
I did not have to sign an NDA doc
I was not advised that during my layoff meeting this morning
My manager got us in a group to tell us we were safe but gave the names of employees on our team whom were impacted. I assumed that was private or confidential but who knows anymore
