Thread regarding HCSC (Health Care Service Corporation) layoffs

Stakeholders are clowns

I worked at HCSC in the Portfolio Management Consultant (PMC) role for several years and left for a higher position with a competitor---it took me nearly a year to find something else but I finally did it.

I couldn't stand the way the stakeholders (managers in IT, PMO, and Business) treated the PMC's--they talked to us like trash and treated us like servants by demanding customer service. The internal customer service is totally misaligned at this company because you have many stakeholders passing their responsibilities off onto a PMC and if we refuse they go to our managers complaining they're not getting serviced as "entitled" clients. The reality is the stakeholders are not customers because they aren't purchasing a product or service and they don't have the ability to take their business elsewhere. We're all blue badge employees and they have to deal with us.

In terms of layoff, HCSC should get rid of these inept stakeholders and bring on better talent. My advice to anyone who is unhappy at HCSC is to keep looking for other jobs, you will eventually find something else.

To the person who asked "what does a Portfolio Management Consultant do? I've never heard of this role..." you can look that up on the HCSC job board--the position is posted frequently.

What does a "portfolio management consultant" do? I've been here 6 years and never heard of this role.

People shouldn't talk to anyone like trash period, when you say "only the annoying one we wanted to leave" you show right there you aren't being professional. Everyone in the workforce at some point has to interact with coworkers they don't care for, but you should always be professional. Maybe it's the stakeholders who are "annoying" (ever considered that?) especially when they ask the PMCs questions they should know in their role.

We don't talk to all of the PMCs like trash, just that one annoying one that we all really wanted to leave. Things are so much nicer now.
