They have a dollar amount they have to hit. Accounting/Finance/HR partners assist with reports and recommendations. Legal/HR sign off as well to ensure no discrimination is occurring.
Low hanging fruit first (performance issues), then by replicated/duplicated function where you can consolidate a team, then you target to ensure you’ve hit young/old/male/female/black/white/etc.
The age and demographics of those selected will be included in the notification packet to prove nothing untoward took place.
It all must appear random and fair to the general public.
So how many thousand of us are they letting go? 1500 the first round 2000 this round and there doing this all the way till Q2 next year.
That worries me cause IT use to send emails to me thinking I was a WellCare transition cause I have the same name as someone who transitioned from WellCare.
That is not entirely true. It is not just Wellcare people. In the first round, there were more then Wellcare people. Every single one of us is at risk.
My boss told us our team is safe. They are purging Wellcare employees. It has been part of the agenda for years. Best time to do now and say it has to do with redetetmination issues. There several rounds up through Q2 2024. They cannot do it all at once because they need some staff to continue to work and spreadout severance costs.
