The wealthy and powerful will never regard you as anything other than a mechanism to make them money and enforce their will on the earth. You will be used and then thrown away. An appalling amount of people seem to have some sort of Stockholm syndrome with their workplace. Right up until it's their turn on the chopping block.
There is no workplace worthy of loyalty. Take what you can get, and when it's not in your best interest, leave. That's what they do to you, so do the same right back.
Don't let them silence you either. Complain loud and publicly, vote for representatives that will protect your right to private free speech.
