Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Confirmed this is wave 2, more to come.

I know for a fact, this is the second round, first was August.

Those departments spared this round will be part of the upcoming subsequent rounds. Follow the money and payor sources to know who got hit first and why.

100%, more rounds in next few months.

Those of you who are using this as an opportunity to be racist shouldn’t be working with the populations that Centene serves. You shouldn’t have been hired to begin with.

IT, VCO, Medicare, markets for both Caid/Care, Ops.

Any job with work tied to membership volume is a primary target. Secondary are those roles that are duplicative with other departments or functions. This is round 2. Expect it to continue.

I don’t have that level of insider knowledge, but I believe the total count when all is said and done is 15% headcount reduction from layoffs, natural attrition, eliminating open positions, and for cause releases (poor performance).

The person who posted about being non white No worries is speaking a bunch of BS. They don't care what race you are-if you are in line to get cut,you will get cut!!!

Don't use these layoffs and this platform to push your replacement theory!! Even that theory is a crock of bull. People are already anxious and scared so to throw division in the mix and add race into it is totally not necessary and only adds to hysteria!

I do agree with another post on here about Centene talking big about DEI but look at the organizational chart. Not much diversity there. I do not like the direction the company is going in. At the townhall the CEO mentioned they went to Europe to meet with European investors. I think that's a bad sign when you have to leave your home country (U.S.) to lure other shareholders. Perhaps American shareholders see the writing on the wall and decisions at the top may not be good overall?!
Something is not right at this company for things to operate like this but race has nothing to do with it!

DEI- I suggest you look at the stats posted on CNET. Then break it down by state. I think after you SEE the facts of the company, you will know that DEI is a bunch on scripted talk and meetings. Post the stats if you think DEI is a priority. Or just look at your org chart.

Non-White No worries. The layoff waves are part of the DEI mission. 2025 hiring plan is to teach people who just crossed the border a little English and then hire them at a lower rate to fill the vacant positions.
