Has this been settled as the layoff date?

Do our direct sups get to pick who goes or will that come from higher up. I was under the impression that our direct supervisors or department would be giving a set number of people they have to cut and then they would get to make the decision on who to cut but a lot of these comment makes it sound like the higher-ups pick the people and then just send the list to your boss.
Our supervisor said she knows nothing but management had a long meeting today.
“Leaders have the lists” … maybe some execs, I have no list. No one asked me anything about anyone or anything.
CEO straight up lied saying people leaders did anything and talked about anything.
Maybe Senior VPs and the like, maybe.
Same timelines in the article. Nothing has changed. Leaders have the lists.
