Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

A few facts:

Just a few facts:
We, the people,
as taxpayers, pay for Medicaid and Medicare companies to exist.
Centene settled on an over 200 million dollar lawsuit in the beginning of this year for mistakes that they made. Broken down, that’s over $100,000 salary for the 2000 potential victims of the lay off.
Know. your. rights.
It takes 12 people or more for a class action lawsuit, a group of 40 is what the federal government likes to see.
Why didn’t they want the fact that 2000 people were getting laid off in the public eyes because they, of course, know these facts. Accepting your severance package is a contract to accept the terms and conditions of your termination. It is imperative to your legal standing, and recourse to not accept their terms.
This is getting to be viral. This is going to make headlines. Perhaps an employer attorney who is willing to take up a class action will get the wind of this ;)
If you are in the financial position where you feel you have to take the severance package everything MUST be signed “Under duress. All rights reserved. Void where prohibited by law. UCC 1-308.” Put that right where you are supposed to sign your name.
Best wishes to everyone.
This is not the end of this. Do not forget, even if your job is retained.

You're probably right, and I don't disagree with you. However, most affected don't have the time to wait for a class action settlement to happen, nor would they likely receive anything near what the severance will be, when it did settle. Most need to live and pay their bills now. I just don't see this taking shape, even if it needs to.

No, a profitable company would seek cost savings throughout the organization rather than just throwing the lay off lever. Having to lay people off is one of the first signs of poor management decisions.

You maybe right 100k * 2000 employees is about 200M savings which is exactly what a profitable company would want to do??
