Macys seems to be hiring absolutely anyone who applies. This could include folks with no skill set, no work ethic , anti social behaviors and no reliability. Long term reliable staff are subjected to working with them while managers avoid coaching them or “dealing” with them. I’m all for a diverse work force, but don’t want to work in a place where I’m frightened, threatened , grossed out or have to carry the workload of a new hire while my manager ignores the problem.

C'mon peeps! These phone hiring clowns have targets to achieve! They don't care who they hire, as long as they make their goals. If I need to hire 5 inadequate don keys to make my quota for the day, so be it. If it takes me 7 to look good, even better :)
give it a few week and they will be promoted to manager position and sit in the office all day
Ever since phone hiring it's gotten so much worse!
I worked with a new hire the other night who never closed a register which was okay. I showed him how to close it and he said "Do i have to do this with every register here" and when I said yes you would have thought it was the hardest thing ever RED FLAG!!
we had a kid who went into stock room all the time during his shift.. there was a side stock room that nobody went into and they kept store props in there.. fast forward a few months he got fired for going to the bathroom 1 and 2 in that very same side stock room.. the kicker is if you walked thru the stock room into the hallway hit the elevator button down its puts you right in front of a bathroom lol...
My shoe assistant manager was taken from make up section and promoted to being a assistant manager to women shoes.. she would disappear for hours on end and nobody could get a hold of her or know where she was. one day i walked into the back office to get a ipod to start working and found her crying and i asked why she said " i didnt get enough sleep" later we found she had track marks all over her arms and a coworker told the manager we think she was on heroine. they told her she needed a dr-g test which she refused and walked out.. thats your managements team right there.. trash..!
We had a new hire who had multiple personalities, one day she told us to call her Veronica, some days we would have to call her Mandy, and some days she wanted us to call her Charlene, she had three different name tags for each of her personalities.
Agree 100%. Anything with a pulse.
There’s something with the pre frontal lobe of the brain that isn’t developed in the new hires
That’s store 8’s standard. As long as you fill the jobs . Their off the s list and they will figure the problem staff out later.
You should be an AST. For every one awful new hire that you deal with on the selling floor, we probably deal with ten who never even make it there.
Welcome to phone hiring!
It’s been that way for at least 7 years where I work. Zero accountability.
