is it me or do they all look nervous?

Talking about unionizing is not about exacting revenge. It’s trying to protect what little one has because there is power in numbers. The ever increasing Greedflation is what will end capitalism. The ever increasing waste of pay to CEOs who only know how to make profits by outsourcing and cutting back from the bottom up. Trust me, I support capitalism, what I don’t support is when the only ones taking the hits are at the bottom of the chain. This meeting should have focused on what sacrifices THEY were making to help support and maintain the company, so layoffs didn’t occur. A true leader leads by example, not sitting in a corporate jet or rented out stadium talking about their dog $hit laden childhood memories. This place needs to unionize…although not sure that will save the company from shipping jobs overseas.
In fairness, telling us exactly who will get let go before actually doing isn’t something they can reasonably do. Look at the backlash in this thread already. Not defending them, but logic needs to prevail at least a little bit.
It’s totally understandable the way people are reacting but let’s be honest - people will exact revenge by any means possible. They already want to unionize and shut down operations and they don’t even know if they’re in the list.
Humans are emotionally volatile creatures especially in times of stress and anxiety.
What’s stopping someone in IT or wherever, from finding out they were going to get let go, and they go out and delete the network drives, send confidential data to all competitors? What stops a claims person from auto approving everything and anything? What stops anyone from doing anything malicious?
We can claim all we want that we’d act professionally…with integrity and ethically, but this site and the anonymous comments say otherwise.
@lsc+1oP45jqP no, that one announced in August is a different one. The layoff that will be announced next week, the last day of employment will be on dec. 8th 2023
Member Service for all lines of business will going over seas ??? Oh LORT, what a sh-t show this will be, LMAO!!
I mean, of course she didn't want it to get announced this way. She wanted the element of surprise so that she didn't have to answer to it or visualize the repercussions. She could just let the team managers deal with the fall out, just like has happened with every other layoff.
And let's just be honest here. The real reason it is happening is because Politan Capital is calling the shots now, and they are the exact reason for all of the changes, including Neidorff and most of the board getting kicked out, customer service being moved overseas, etc. Who in their right mind would think outsourcing member services to an out of country call center is a good idea? Certainly not the members who have to call in multiple times a day just to get an answer (maybe), or sit on hold for 2 hours while the agent goes to lunch. But yes, Politan and it's quest to piece the company off and then sell it is certainly to profit here. This is what drives Centene now. Not the mission.
Layoffs in 2024?
how about being told we're going to see layoffs through 2024 only to start hiring new employees in 2025! all while in the middle of another 2023 layoff -
This Town Hall makes me want a chicken sandwich....lol
No corporation is family.
How about saying who is being laid off??
Is this layoff in addition to the layoffs (masked as reorg) that happened in August?
Did that culture lady say she talked to 400 people, 200 of whom were VPs? lmao
Could all this be about the layoff in August 2023? Since they are actually laid off in October.
All this talk about profits, yet...layoffs? Ok.
You heard that subtle "America is moving away from employer sponsored health care." Just preparing your brain for a slow reduction in your benefits. Also, Americans don't really WANT, as she said, to choose their own stuff; in fact, under the ADA, many American's CANNOT just go buy health insurance.
This company su-ked before Sarah came on board. Unless you were a VP or above the company pays and treats you like a peon.
How can they announce the layoff's yet not give us any more information on who will be impacted so people can start making plans and come to terms with it. This has been all handled so unprofessionally and I miss Michael N.
With all this talk about exciting expansions and paying NFL players to support certain ideas and they want us to believe they NEED to lay off 2,000 analysts!?!?!? Besides the fact that they continue to hire more employees! They have absolutely no idea how to run a company! Everything has done nothing but go downhill since Sarah London took over!
They should’ve pushed off this town hall until after the layoffs and moved up the actual layoffs in its place. They’re trying to be positive but this is not a good time when employees are worried about losing their job. The message they’re trying to get out is being lost.
Who is the lady talking with Sarah?
Nothing grabs the crowd quite like a dog po-p anecdote.
Sounds like more job cuts next year
So glad they are smiling, laughing and making light. So professional
This is messed up. Why mask everything. So glad they are being “transparent” what a joke
feels like a whole lotta BS
It was invite only to a limited audience. Audience is exec friendly.
I'm still trying to figure out why they put chairs up on stage when no one is sitting in them and all the speakers go hide in the back after saying their parts...what a strange town hall
They’re embarrassed, it’s never fun to admit failure. It’s impossible to act confident and upbeat after telling people “we’re letting you go”.
Idk why nervous, all they did was read the company wide email verbatim and not elaborate.
What a joke
Yea they are standing in front of a crowd of people telling them you may be on a chopping block. Fear of a non positive reaction.
