There were layoffs in August, will be layoffs now in October and likely again in December.
All of us here at Centene sympathize with all of you hit so hard by these trying economic times. In order to help you, we are reducing the price of government provided HC by 50 cents a can. When this crisis is over, we will go back to our regular prices. Until then, remember, we're all in this together. Centene. The state run HC provider a with a heart.
You voted for this now eat it up.
Don’t even try to minimize this as “surgical”. Surgical is only accurate when you consider it’s 2000 of 65000. But it is in NO WAY a small or insignificant number.
These are two thousand people that have listened to and taken direction from COMPANY LEADERSHIP on what to do and when to do it.
If the company is not profitable enough, COMPANY LEADERSHIP should suffer.
They aren’t cutting 2000 director and above roles. Some will be, yes. But the vast majority are your average workers who only have ever done as they’ve been directed.
They didn’t acquire other companies. They didn’t decide executive compensation. They didn’t decide what markets to go into or leave. They didn’t decide what benefits to offer. They didn’t decide how to implement solutions.
They didn’t get a vote on any of that. Executive Leadership did.
While change is inevitable, there is a way to be human and upfront about things like this. That leadership was trying to sneak up on 2000 people shows that they do not give a damn. If they did, they’d be open and honest. They weren’t.
As in yesterday there were layoffs or are you talking about the August layoffs?
