I feel bad for those who have been laid off and I hope they find a better career. However i am not sure why people are surprised with the layoffs. Centene acquired multiple companies to integrate into their platform, business practice ...etc with the helo of automation, there are multiple duplicate jobs that need to be eliminated and increase profit. And my friends, that is how why Centene went on a buying spree few years ago, not to offer ppl jobs, but to make profit. That is the main principle of capitalism. Not sure why ppl are surprised

There are literally project managers with no projects and a lot of data analyst who do nothing. It’s time to let some go. Why are there directors and Vice presidents over departments? Like what???
The “Centene Platform” is a stretch, if attempting to refer to technology that is not 30 years old, and even the new stuff is 10 years late.
You are correct, however if you think these big corps make changes based on employees surveys, i think you are very naive. They care about profit and profit only!!! Why? The profit will attract investors, who will buy tge stocks, the price goes up, the leasership sell their their thousands of stock options and cash in millions of dollars. Welcome to the biggest corporation scam. If they fire ppl their work will fall on the rest of employees who are "afraid" of the layoff and they will su-k it up and pick up the extra work. Now, to the leadership, the worst thing that could happend is key employees start to quit voluntarily, and how they fix that? They will open position and offer good salaries to new candidates. And that's that.
Agreed. I think the frustration which now turns to frustration/anger is that the regime states how empathetic they are and how DE&I is in every fiber of their being, but the employees were never communicated how and if they were being evaluated, or what criteria was used. One example is for management to provide a ranking of their employees for bonuses, and the tool was used as a scorecard to lay off workers.
Furthermore, during the last couple of layoffs there was no transition plan. Meaning, you may or may not have a resource to complete your tasks, projects, resolve issues, etc. this causes delays, resulting in poor delivery and frustration for all parties.
The Fall Engagement survey should be interesting if the employees would like to provide honest feedback.
