Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Would you recommend this company to a freind?

If your freind told you they had an upcoming job interview with this company, what would you tell them?

Everything is scary right now. I’m so sick of bashing the company. It's incredibly unhelpful. I would love to see anyyyyyyyy recommendation of a good company. Trust me! I would sign up.

I’d tell them to find another company. If they don’t they’d face layoffs or riffs eventually.

Never not even before this. The pay in our state was and is below fast food levels. They use the entire state, including the very rural and poor areas to depress the pay band for the state even though no one is allowed to live in those poor areas as they are too far from an office. The only place anyone can live and work for Anthem is in the more expensive part of the state.

This company is horribly managed and really need to fail and be bought by a better company.

I have and he was hired. Moved to another dept within 4 months of hire. Moved again to another dept 2 months after that. Now possible lay offs? I feel horrible even getting them in here! I would never refer another person to Anthem again!!!

Nope, not a good time to come to Elevance. We are pretty much on a hiring freeze right now. The organization isn't stable. It's a sinking ship with a plan to cut 20% of the workforce.

No.
They ruin everything they touch and leadership is out of touch and now ruining the govt. business.

I always tell people who ask...you may have a good experience based on your team/workload, etc. however, you will be in constant fear of layoffs because you are just another number at the end of the day.

I would say it's a weird company that pays well.

I referred a dear friend who quit her job to work for Anthem and was laid off within a
year. It was a struggle on our friendship. I did try to discourage her from applying.
I would let your friend make their own decision and stay out of it.

If it’s a lower level position and somebody just wants to do clerical type work and stay off the radar, it might not be so bad. It’s not a place for leaders with any sort of critical thinking skills. That is frowned upon.

As a nurse, I do. The job security everywhere is getting iffy now, sadly. I have worked at other insurance companies and they all have the same greed and politics. But the pay and benefits are better here. I'm concerned they'll be eliminating all of us nurses before too long though, so we'll see. Things are likely to change over time, though, so who knows what I'm saying in a few months!

Great pay. Great benefits. No job offers security, pisspoor leadership.

I would tell them, "Don't do it, unless you have everything to lose".
