UM precert Nurses

I know there are so many job roles and departments that are within the company but any nurses here …what are your thoughts on how long we’ve got? Specifically the UM dept? Do you think the majority of us will be RIFd by the new year? A lot of our work load Carelon has taken over. We are barely doing full criteria review on cases. Thoughts?

Honestly, I think only a skeleton crew will be left after all the codes are moved to Carelon and AI is deployed. I think April was the last I heard on Carelon taking the balance of work. I saw nurse med management I positions open for Carelon this week, but knowing some were rif'd too, I have no clue what this company is doing anymore. I don't think anyone, anywhere is safe right now. It reminds me of when Mark Boxer committed to cutting the budget by X dollars, and rif'd hundreds of people...with only the sole outcome of reaching a $ amount..... then he left the company... Only for the company to bring some people back because some areas could not function.

I think the org has been slowly extricating from the business of employed clinicians. It's been an agonizingly slow trickle, and I have no idea why they've not simply ripped off the band-aid. I'm sure there's a reason for it, but that's above my paygrade. Either way, look at arms like Caremore, what it was vs what it has become.

If I were a provider employed by this company, I'd only be hanging around if I lived in a state with PTO payout and had reason to expect a three+ month severance. Otherwise, I say get out.
