Hey everyone, curious how you're preparing for the layoff other than updating resume, applying to jobs.
My first layoff since I'm super early still in my career, and very worried.

What areas or departments? I hear Medicare, but any particular groups / units that people know of? Like provider services? Provider readiness, Contracting...... And definitive areas?
What happened? Were you laid off? What management talking point in bold? Is this viewable somewhere?
So, it's happened. I haven't heard of official numbers yet, but I did hear someone say 10%. Take that with a grain of salt. Also, management talking point memo said in bold it wasn't a one-time action.
Never once in the Medicare Town Hall did they say there would be no mass layoffs. The word Layoffs was never even mentioned.
With that being said it would have been comforting if they mentioned the rumors and put it to bed.
Thoughts on the Medicare Town Hall today? Why are they doing a dedicated operating model? And where did the 10/12 date come from?
What did they say? apparently someone said in the other thread that in the town halls they were saying no mass lay offs.

People are spreading rumors in here …
Sounds like a Cigna Director trying to change the narrative

If they plan to lay off remote employees they do not have to provide warn notice as those employees do no report to a specific work location.
not true, upon further research these remote employees are probably assigned to a certain headquarter say bloomfield, but they work remote. So more than likely it should trigger a WARN. However it seems like Cigna is somehow getting around it because people have been getting laid off all year. perhaps its due to paying severance.

If you were hired remotely, after offices were locked during COVID-19, there's a possibility you are in the pool of layoffs for 10/12. In particular if you are in the field of engineering and software.
is this from a credible source or are you guessing??
I've seen so many e-mails the past several weeks of "(employee) has chosen to seek opportunities outside of the organization." Which typically means there job was eliminated. Technology and Medicare employees just disappear. I can't believe they are planning to do even more eliminations.

I am confused. It doesn’t sound like layoffs coming like everyone is saying. Hope someone is not spreading rumors.
its crazy how they're planning to lay off people but aren't required to file anything for WARN??
The date came from very reputable sources!! You'll definitely see very soon. They have been trying to keep it "hush hush" and blindside people so I'm glad that the word is out and people are trying to warn everyone to be better prepared.
People aren't "suddenly" retiring, they are being forced to retire due to the job eliminations.... I unfortunately lost my job over the summer and was a "lifer" and the job market is absolutely horrible. I wish everyone the best of luck because at this point anything can happen and NO ONE is safe!!! :(
for the person with bosses in staffing model meeting, are you on the tech side of things?
I am not in tech. Medicare side within market specific teams.

Where did this date/notion come from? First I've heard about it.
Bosses in my department are in a staffing model meeting today. Managers to market president.
I’ve been applying to other roles in other organizations prior to me finding out about the 10/12 day. I’ve been chugging along with work to my best and giving the necessary requirements.
I wish everyone the best of luck. The job market right now is rough.
if your department has people leaving or laid off, can you share what department as well please?
I’m not sure what to do. People in my department are dropping like flies, one after the other. Each of them has been a “sudden retirement.” I don’t know what to do except keep showing up and hoping I don’t get that call. I really don’t want to have to job hunt in this market.
