Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

RTO me not

At the moment, I am not in a hub. I was assigned to Dallas, chosen RTO, and am scheduled to be in the office on January 1st. Instead of three times each week, I intend to commute maybe once every month or two. Manager located in Atlanta. I've heard that 30% of employees do not follow RTO requirements. I intend to ride this until RTO is gone. They cannot lay off 30% of the workers. Take this into consideration before making your decision, Wave II.

You are going to be terminated for cause as you should be and need to treat your current salary as active severance.

Weekly attendance reports are generated. You will get terminated if you fail to comply to the min 3 days a week.

“my boss is in a different state and so is my entire team.”
You are missing the entire point of collaboration which is the primary goal of RTO.

Seven minute drive to hub. Three coworkers here. Meet later to discuss project. All good here.

It will be noticed. It’s highly possible you only have 6 months left it’s Att.

Beware when you say you’ll go in once every month or two “until you get laid off”. You will not be laid off, you will be terminated. No severance. It is now written into HR policy if you do not comply you can be fired. This is all part of the plan.

I'm in a hub and have a short commute but half my team is in another state. Since going back, we have not had one in person meeting because all our meetings have to include the other people. All RTO has accomplished for me is that work is now paying for my electricity and has made it harder to even hear at these meetings. And now I'm one more body in an overcrowded building and making it harder for someone else each day to find a spot to park.

Thanks executive team, yet another stupid decision that has accomplished nothing.

Good luck! Beware that those of us in Dallas are being micromanaged on our attendance.
