Final paycheck

Is anybody who quit recently still visiting this page? If the answer is yes, can you please tell me if you had any issues with your last paycheck? I've heard from some people that they had some weird deductions on them and I'd like to know if that's a common thing and what to expect once I resign next month.

The direct deposit for my unused PTO came 2 weeks after my last (hourly) pay check.

FYI-If you are in New York they tax the heck out of it

Congratulations on your new position!

You should be compensated for unused, earned YTD PTO. If you "bought" days and did not use those purchased days, that $$ should be paid back to you as well. If you have used MORE of your PTO time than has been EARNED YTD, then I imagine a deduction would be in order, as that time off has not been earned. I believe the online payroll system tells you how much has been earned YTD, but you can otherwise do the math.

Receive what you are owed, period. If you have accrued PTO time but did not take it, then that will be part of your exit pay. Other than that, your pay will reflect things up until your last work day plus the normative deductions for taxes, medical, dental, vision, 401K, other misc benefit programs signed up to. Not rocket science.

I'm not a former employee...but you never know with this company...

You should be paid out for any unused PTO through the end of 2023. Also, remember a few years ago, when they took a week of pay and held it in arrears? Make sure they pay that too. There should be an accounting of what they are paying out; make sure it's correct. Pull down any pay stubs and PTO detail while you still have access to the system. If you quit, you don't get unemployment, but wouldn't hurt to see what your state's workforce commission says as states can vary as to circumstances under which they would pay unemployment. Good luck!!

You get paid out for unused PTO that you have earned up to current calendar date or any PTO that you bought that is paid over up to current calendar date that you have thus far paid into up to the date of your resignation.

Do we get paid for unused PTO? I’m a salaried employee

I've been told that HR takes our an automatic "gratuity" for all the great services they provide.

Unless you have bought PTO days that you are being paid out on that is taxed heavier and would look like a different type pf deduction for the taxes on those since a different tax percentage but otherwise the final paycheck should look the same.

Noting weird at all. You will receive what you are rightfully owed. Why would it be any different?
