Thread regarding Lumen Technologies layoffs

Why do custimers choose us?

So when an organization is looking to upgrade network circuits, migrate to AWS/GOOGLE/AZURE Cloud, or needs any number of other service offerings that Lumen could sell them, why would a seasoned IT executive put their organization at risk and their career in jeopardy by trusting Lumen? Are there not better, more stable providers? Completely new CEO & Leadership team, tumbling stock price, loosing customers left and right.... it's quite evident by the questions asked internally by proposal managers and others that we have no repository of referenceable customers. RFP's ask for our financial stability. HAHAHA

Would you put your career on the line or the organization you lead at risk by
going with Lumen?

Organizations need a backup also and our mergers have hampered that, so they had to bring in another firm to handle their network.

I can speak for my state, MaBell, USWest, Qwest were the only providers of anything in my city. Now, I only know of 3 providers. Lumen, a cable television company who may offer business services and Verizon who started placing fiber in our alleys about 7 years ago. I have seen a few AT&T vans driving around, but I have not seen any advertising, kiosks or AT&T stores in the surrounding 6 cities. Could there be another company that sells services without advertising? Could be, but that seems very d-mb when you place fiber and only do door to door sales ....when you can load up the span with over 1,000 lines.

correct! Most companies will at least run a credit check on potential new suppliers and most procurement teams will do a lot more than that, to ensure any new supplier of services is stable. We aren't which is why we will continue to be avoided- by most sensible organizations.

Maybe Lumen is only interested in providing technology to companies that doesn't care for old legacy services.
These companies don't care what you say.
They are much smarter than you. 😆
