For now

Wahh, it wasn't the worst layoff what is now known as T moble has had. Don't kid yourself, it's a business first, the rest is either window dressing or smoke and mirrors.
“Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor”?
You do realize he sent that on a Saturday to send the message that you better work - and take note. He could have waited until Monday the message to the leadership & IC's was well received. Especially since they cut the PTO carry over - expect more cuts in Feb. of next year.
Mike is a damn LIAR. Most jobs eliminated were individual contributor roles. Most managers and above were retained and some whose departments were eliminated were given a new title to match whatever they were being chosen to stay for.
What was eliminated was a bunch of mid level IC roles. This makes the company more top heavy than it already was and also creates a tougher environment to move up ranks in. Less roles available for lower level folks while management doesn’t do anything. Expect morale to continue to decrease as this is more and more evident over time.
So we are making our top heavy company even more top heavy and we should be happy about it?
I checked my dept. numbers and 16% of the entire department are director level or above. Are most departments like this? Worse?
"We aren’t just telling customers that it’s better over here — we’re showing them, too."
We sure showed those customers by fumbling their sensitive data over and over. Please give us your bank account info just trust us!
Wow, is this mail for real? I moved for greener pastures while ago,. Didn’t have much of of opinion about the management even then, but if true this is just hideous.
“Lots of promotions for managers across the org’s. Be on the lookout for new and better titles for them. They of course will not advertise it though”
Are you serious? After a mass layoff they’re actually promoting management and leadership? What a slap in the face to us all.

Estrogen chugging Mike and his AI generated BS, just like Ulfs, says nothing. We've entered the full legacy Sprint business plan of 2-4 layoffs a year. My workload has literally doubled, supervision attitude is "you're lucky to still be here, if you dont agree that Mike and the SLT are doing a good job youll go in the next one".
There is no morale, just employees united in disgust and trying to just get through the day, nothing produchive is going on and no one cares any more.
"A difficult period for all of us" said the lo----e who used the pandemic to fire people.
He and the SLT will never recover from screwing thosee people, because no one can believe them or more importantly, trust them.
All he can do is write PR garbage like this while keeping everyone in a state of fear.
Thank you for posting that. Just goes to prove what a pompous a&& Mike really is.
Team,
Late last month I shared our plans to make organizational shifts across the company, including reducing some corporate, back-office and technology roles. In that note, I said we were committed to completing this process by the end of September, moving as quickly as possible while also ensuring we were treating impacted employees with respect and sensitivity. Today I’m writing to share that we were able to make these shifts more quickly than planned, and they are now complete across the company.
I know this has been a difficult period for all of us, and I want to thank you for everything you’ve done to support each other as we continue delivering for the business throughout this transition. Many of you are taking on new or expanded roles, some of you will be working with different leaders or relocating to be closer to your teams, and others earned promotions. I recognize that we are going through a fair amount of change, but the more efficient and collaborative environment we’re working to build should create a better place to work and enable us to move faster and work smarter over time.
While we will certainly continue to face challenges as we adjust to new structures and processes, I am looking forward to our bright future. I know that our leaders all across this organization will work with the teams they have just built to ensure we get our departments aligned, empowered, and operating well.
I feel so optimistic about this team and what’s to come. We aren’t just telling customers that it’s better over here — we’re showing them, too. Not only with big, bold, disruptive Un-carrier moves but also our day-in and day-out focus on delivering the best-in-class customer experience with the integration of digital tools and capabilities that will make it even better. Our customers have set high expectations that I’m confident this team will live up to and even exceed as we redefine wireless yet again. Our next chapter is all about delivering these incredible customer experiences, on the best 5G network in the world, while continuing to provide the industry's best value.
Looking around at all the ways we’re embracing change and daring to challenge the status quo reminds me about what makes us so special. It’s our relentlessness – our unique “We Won’t Stop” mentality – that will continue to set us apart and position us for long-term success.
Thank you for all you do, and for your personal contributions to the next era of the T-Mobile story we’re building together.
Best,
—Mike
For those of us 5000 who were laid off and didn't get to see what Mike said would you consider posting the contents of his email here?
Just please stop cheering like you are at a high school pep rally for the next all hands. The leadership team should enter to SILENCE.
Dara in Finance said it in our all hands after layoffs. Let's get back to what we do so well cuz we have work to do.
“Eff those we cut! Pick up the slack, losers”
“How will they pivot to business as usual? Tone deaf? Bullying? Ignoring the damage? Do they even know or my goodness care?!“
Have you not already gotten the “be glad you still have a job, now get to work or you won’t” vibe from your leaders yet?
UN-Carrier to now SUPER-Carrier
"Mike did an excellent job with the layoff. Clearly he sought guidance from The Lord to do the right thing."
Gr8 b8 m8.
I think what bugs me is that he completely upended at least 5,000 lives (actually more when you count their families) and called this organizational shifts. I am sick to my stomach.
How can he expect loyalty and motivation from employees who are left?
You can be sure a whole army of lawyers edited or approved (probably even wrote) Mike’s email. Designed to sound inspiring yet promise nothing when it comes to job security for any survivors.
“Mike did an excellent job with the layoff. Clearly he sought guidance from The Lord to do the right thing. Hopefully the people laid off will realize they were not contributing and Will correct their poor work habits so th hey don’t get fired from their next job.”
The lord of corporate greed? I sure hope this is a bad attempt at satire and people don’t actually believe such things.
I am extremely curious to see exactly how they will rally the troops after this complete morale and culture implosion.

I found the email similar to other emails sent by leaders once their layoffs were done this time. All carefully constructed and designed to inspire those left behind. Our organization/company is better now blah blah blah so let’s go on to do great things blah blah blah I am feeling rosy(magenta?) about our awesome future blah blah blah. I’m not sure I like the kool aid any more
What was the general context?
There will be more “trimming” just not in the numbers that were part of this go around.
Frontline and dealer support after holidays.
Every year. A layoff. It’s like that already.
This one they were public and now they know it was stupid and will go back to quiet layoff.
Expect another big one Sept 2024.
There is nothing in his email that suggests no more layoff in the foreseeable future :(
Yeah. The rest of us are just regular fired.
Why would anyone believe those words? Maybe T-Mobile employees should ask those consultants who reviewed the organization charts in 2022 and decided on who leaves and who stays OR few key suppliers who knew about layoffs before many in the organization. Hard to believe correct? The truth will come out slowly.
